Coco Gauff is all set to add a new milestone to her career. The American tennis professional debuted in the year 2019, and claimed the headlines by outclassing, Venus Williams, in the first round of Wimbledon. Thereafter, she maintained the light on herself by becoming the youngest title holder since 2004 at the Linz Open.
Gauff’s march toward the top has never faced a halt. She ended the year of her debut with a place in WTA’s top 100. Then in the following season, she broke into the top 50 and now is ready to hold a rank in the elite list. Also, she will be sharing a pedestal with the 23-time Grand Slam champion, Serena Williams.

Coco Gauff touches a new milestone
Coco Gauff will make a WTA top 10 debut, on the Hologic WTA Tour, next week. She will become the youngest American to make her Top 10 debut since Serena Williams on April 5, 1999, at 17 years, 191 days old. Speaking of her performance, she started the year riding high on the form and showcased her best game on the red dirt in the French Open.
The 18-year-old, became the youngest Grand slam finalist since the five-time Grand Slam champion, Maria Sharapova, in 2004. Although she failed to outdo Iga Swiatek’s incredible form, she successfully furthered her reach in the ranking table. Gauff, who didn’t drop any set till finals claimed the spot of World no.13.

Following that, she competed in the semifinals of Berlin’s grass based event and made a quarterfinal appearance in Wimbledon. Thus, with the end of the grass swing, she jumped two ranks. The right-handed tennis ace currently sits on the ranking of WTA 12 and with the help of her quarterfinals run in the US Open, she will finally receive a position in the elite list. Now the young blood will aim for rankings that players such as Iga Swiatek, and Ons Jabeur are having a hold on.

The 2022 French Open finalist, after having a marvellous clay and grass experience, jumped on the American swing. She entered the WTA 1000 event of Toronto, with the backing of Silicon Valley Classics’ quarterfinals run. There Gauff made up to the last 8 of singles and clinched the doubles trophy alongside Jessica Pegula.

Though post Canada, her racket failed to secure the opening match of Cincinnati. But she bounced back before the Grand Slam. The American took almost every opponent in straight sets and suffered the similar fate against Caroline Garcia at quarterfinals. The Cincinnati Masters champion outclassed Gauff in straight sets of 6-3 6-4.
