The curtains may have closed on an exhilarating tennis season, but the excitement is far from over! Even as the on-court action takes a breather, players are finding new ways to keep their fans entertained—and Coco Gauff is leading the charge. The American sensation, who had a stellar year, isn’t just resting on her laurels. Oh no, Gauff is turning her off-season into a show of its own, capturing hearts and headlines as she gears up for an even bigger 2025 campaign.
The American tennis sensation wrapped her year after clinching a remarkable victory at the WTA Finals in Riyadh. While she could not prove her mettle in the initial half of the season and managed to win only one title at the ASB Classic, she bounced back in style winning not just in Riyadh but the China Open as well, proving why she is a formidable force on the court. Now, she seems to be taking a much-deserved break with her family.
Taking to her Instagram handle, the 20-year-old shared a picture from inside a flight featuring her family members. Gauff’s mother Candi, her father Cori, and her brothers were seen in the picture. But what caught the attention was the presence of Gauff’s coach Jean-Christophe Faurel in the picture. Captioning the post, she made a cheeky remark and wrote, “Family trip plus @jeanchristopherfaurel 🤣❤️.” Remember, Gauff shares an old bond with Faurel.

For the unversed, Faurel partnered with Coco Gauff when she was just 14 years old. He was also a part of her setup during her remarkable Wimbledon campaign in 2019 when Gauff became the youngest player to qualify for the grass-court Grand Slam. While the duo parted ways in 2020, they joined back forces in April this year.
Speaking about their partnership, Gauff earlier remarked, “It’s nice to have someone on my team that knows me since I was young and knows me well. So I’m really, really excited to have him back on the team.” And now, the latest picture highlights that the bond has only strengthened over the years.
Meanwhile, soon after the family vacation, about which Gauff has not shared much detail, Gauff will head to Australia to mark the beginning of her next season. And as she looks forward to it, the anticipation from her is growing immensely from the tennis community.

Expectations at peak as Coco Gauff gears up for the next season
Coco Gauff’s season in 2024 depicted her resilient side. Despite facing immense challenges, especially owing to her service, she managed to claw back on the courts and give a tough time to her opponents. And now, as she gears up for the next year, experts are expecting her to shine brightly, and leading the fray is none other than her compatriot Andy Roddick.
Expressing his support for Gauff, Roddick said, “She’s going to sleep a lot better this off-season, and her steps are going to be a little bit lighter when she goes into problem-solving. There’s not as much scar tissue from 2024, she’s almost deleted all of it, and I think she’s prepped for a massive year next year.” But when it comes to Gauff, she seems to go ahead slowly without setting unrealistic targets.

“I’ve never been a person who thinks about the ranking. I only want the Slams, but yes, I know I have this possibility. But honestly, I don’t think about the number 1 of the WTA ranking,” said the star player. For now, what remains interesting to be seen is whether Gauff will share more insights from her family trip and if Faurel will continue to be featured in her posts.
