Tennis players are quite fond of anime and many are even trying to get themselves into some anime series. World No.3 Naomi Osaka also featured in a recent anime series and has certainly inspired her colleagues to do the same. Recently, the young sensation Coco Gauff opened up about her interests in anime.
In a recent press conference, Coco Gauff revealed that she has quite a great interest in anime series. She also said that her friend had been trying very hard to make her work in an anime. It is quite possible that fans might see her in an anime very soon.
“My friend is really into anime and she got me into that. I have known her since I was ten. She’s been trying to get me into anime for years and finally, I was like okay, I’ll try it,” said Gauff in the press conference.

The 16-year-old player also disclosed her favorite anime that her friend recommended to her. She also told the reason that why she fell in love with the series.
“She recommended me ‘Haikyuu’ and like, I fell in love with the show because I could relate to a lot of characters on the show,” added the young American player.

“Changed my mindset”- Coco Gauff on the anime series Haikyuu
Gauff further reflected that Haikyuu changed her mindset completely. She even said that she kept on thinking about the show during her last match as well.

“People are gonna think that I’m crazy but I think that the show definitely changed my mindset. Coming into this week, like, I was thinking about it, today, in the match on some tough moments,” concluded Gauff.
Gauff recently won her first match at the WTA 500 Melbourne 2 and she’ll now face Katie Boulter in the next round of the tournament.
After this, Gauff will advance to the Australian Open 2021. She played quite well at the Slam last year and managed to reach the fourth round after defeating Naomi Osaka. Fans certainly have huge expectations from her. Will Gauff be able to win her maiden Grand Slam title in Melbourne this year?
