Coco Gauff is a tennis player who always makes a statement with the way she handles her opponents. However, she takes pride in much more than her tennis skills. Gauff has a great fashion sense. But her fashion sense would not be enough if she wanted to make a statement in style. She managed to usher in her beginning as a fashion icon with the help of her sponsors, New Balance, who created an iconic t-shirt for her.

The end of the year is upon us, and news outlets have shared several recaps. One of the ways they remember the year passed is by talking about some of the most stylish dresses or individuals throughout the year. The New York Times has a prominent fashion department with an Instagram handle, NYStyle. They recently shared posts on their page where they shared the class of the most stylish people throughout the year.

Coco Gauff made the cut, along with 70 other individuals. Proud of her accomplishment, the American sensation shared the post on her Instagram story. Along with it, she also wrote, “Made it on NY Times most stylish people 😚❤️ of 2023. Thank youuuu. If you know me, you know I take a lot of pride in what I wear on and off the court, so this is awesome. Shout out to team NB“.

She gave a shout-out to her sponsors, who have helped her create stylish outfits on court. However, they have done much more for Gauff as the relationship between the brand and the players flourishes.

New Balance create iconic outfit for Gauff’s reign

The US Open would change the world for the 19-year-old American star. She would win her first grand slam in her native country and will now live as a prospect for all slams in 2024. The celebrations did not end at home as her $5.3 billion sponsors went all out. They created a t-shirt with an iconic slogan. After her win, they unveiled a white t-shirt with “Call me Coco Champion” written in the center.

The slogan is a reference to their original marketing campaign with Gauff, where the t-shirt had “Call me Coco” written in the middle. The new t-shirt went live on sale minutes after her US Open. New Balance and Gauff shared a great relationship when they first joined hands. Now that she is the only active WTA player with her own shoe, they will continue improving their bond.
