Coco Gauff’s stunning Australian Open run came to an end last week after she lost the QF round against Paula Badosa. But the World No.3 is not one to sit down and mourn her failures. The 2023 US Open winner always finds a way to keep herself busy with a positive mindset. And what could be a better stress buster than going on outings with family? Seems like the 2024 WTA Finals champion is utilizing her time well before stepping back on the court. The WTA star is currently spending her time at home, in Florida. But what’s she been up to there?

The 20-year-old young American’s mother Candi Gauff shared a series of pictures on Instagram, on Wednesday. In the post, she revealed that the entire family went to the South Florida Fair. In the caption, she wrote, “South Florida Fair on $2 Tuesdays, free parking, and selected items for $2.”

The photos showed Coco with her mother Candi and father Corey. She was also joined by her brothers Codey and Cameron. All the family members were seen exploring various stalls and offerings at the fair, especially food. In one of the pictures, Gauff was even seen sharing food with younger brother Cameron.

Going into the Australian Open, Coco Gauff was in prime form. After clinching the WTA Finals in Riyadh, she even helped her country to win the United Cup for a second time, earlier this month. Experts were calling her a favorite to win the Major down under. However, her unbeaten campaign came to a standstill in the quarterfinal. Against Spain’s Paula Badosa, Gauff didn’t have an answer and eventually lost the match 5-7, 4-6 in straight sets.

Reflecting on the crushing defeat, she later said in an official press conference, “I have to be aggressive,” revealing that she perhaps didn’t show much intensity against Badosa. “I feel like that’s when I’m playing my best. That’s how I won most of the matches so far the last few months is by playing aggressive. I think it’s just being more comfortable with that,” reported WTA’s official website on January 21.

However, she made it clear that she was not devastated by the result. “I’m not crushed, but obviously it does feel bad when you feel like you’re playing great tennis for the better start of this year to lose, but it is what it is.” That being said, “We’ll get back to work.”
