Coco Gauff Calls Out Cheeky Brother Codey for Classic Sibling Shenanigans During Hilarious Red Light Moment

Growing up with a brother or sister is like having a best friend who is also your enemy. It’s always fun, no matter what! American tennis star, Coco Gauff may be a superstar in the tennis world, but to her younger siblings, Codey and Cameron, she’s a big sister at first. Although, Gauff has often admitted that nowadays, “It’s tough keeping in touch, especially with my brothers in general,” in the middle of their busy schedules, still whenever they get a chance to meet each other, they always make sure there’s no shortage of fun. Recently, Gauff was spotted sharing a glimpse of their similar vibes during an unplanned meeting with her younger brother, Codey.

Coco Gauff is the eldest of three siblings. While Gauff has a passion for tennis right from a very young age, Codey picked baseball and Cameron has been trying his luck in multiple sports, including tennis and football. Gauff has a very close bond with her sibling and she’s often seen cracking jokes and having fun with her two brothers. For example, in December 2024, she shared a hilarious video clip on her social media account and in that video, she was spotted cracking a middle-child joke on her brother, Codey.

She was spotted sitting on a kid’s ride-along with her brothers. Coco Gauff captioned that video clip with, “When you’re the middle child and the other siblings force you to participate.” Further stressing on these light-hearted moments featuring the Gauff family, recently the elder sister was spotted having a surprise meet with Codey at the same traffic light.

Both of them were spotted waiting in their cars for the signal to turn green. Codey was even spotted shaking his head with a bright smile on his face and vibing to the tunes inside his car. Coco Gauff shared that video clip on her IG story with the caption, “When your brother pulls up on you at a red light lol @codeygauff.”

Coco Gauff has a very special relationship with Codey. Although he’s younger than her by age, there have been times when the tennis star was spotted portraying her admiration for her brother’s personality. While speaking about how she values the lessons she has learned from her younger siblings, Gauff once said, “My brother Codey, he has this really confident but low-key persona about him. That’s something that I really try to emulate on the court.”

Not only that, Gauff had even revealed how Codey has a very detailed understanding of sports and how he helped her improve her mind games in bigger events. Talking about her mind games in major tournaments, the 2023 US Open champion once said, “I think as you get later, the trophy obviously gets closer and closer. You have to treat it that it’s as far away as it is if you’re in the first round. That’s what I approached that final with. I didn’t approach it as I just need to win two sets and I have it. I approached it as I need to win seven matches again and then I’ll get it. It was actually something my brother (Codey) told me, which is crazy.”

Previously, during an interview with USA Baseball, Coco Gauff’s father, Corey Gauff, highlighted how nice it was for him and his family to see his daughter and Codey doing wonders in their own fields. He said, “It’s been good to see them grow up and compete in the sports that they love while also keeping their academics first. I like that they still want to learn and get better everyday. Coco chose what she wanted to do very early on. Codey played football for a little bit and some basketball, kind of arriving at baseball a little bit later in life than Coco did with tennis, but they both worked really hard growing up.”

He also spoke about how both of them have unique skill sets in their respective sports and how “great” it is to watch them grow. In October 2024, Codey took a major step in his baseball journey by committing to the University of Missouri’s NCAA Division I baseball team. During that time, Coco Gauff was even spotted congratulating her brother by saying, “So proud of you codey! Beyond happy for you!” She expressed her joy and excitement by sharing multiple pictures on her social media account with the caption, “I’m just so happy for him. My lil bro is growing up.”

Coco Gauff and her family have been a constant support for Codey in his baseball journey. Just a few weeks ago, when MLB Develops’ IG page shared a few glimpses of Codey practicing his catching and throwing, it was their mother, Candi, who was among the first ones to shower love on the post.
