American tennis legend Martina Navratilova has earned a lot of respect from all over the world. The 18-time Grand Slam champion had a pretty long career and followed it up with her commentary stint.

Apart from her involvement in tennis, the 65-year-old has also worked on several other issues. As a celebrity, she used the platform to spread awareness and fight against social injustice, and spoke about the rights of people. She is a prominent face in the LGBTQ society. Even after achieving a lot in her career, the 65-year-old revealed that she still faces issues with the crowd. “I still get introduced here and there and I hear jeers and boos from two or three people. Chris never had to hear that. I used to have a lot more of it, obviously,” she said.
Further, the former world No. 1 added, “I still hear it, and it hurts. To think that something like that would define somebody’s perception of you as a human being is pretty scary.”

Indian-born British- American novelist Salman Rushdie suffered from a horrific incident recently. The author got stabbed in New York earlier this week. He was rushed to the hospital and was placed in the ventilator in a critical condition.
The former world No. 1 reacted to the horrific incident. Navratilova took to her Twitter account to wish for the good health of Rushdie. Sharing news about the incident she wrote, “Hope Mr. Rushdie will be ok…”

Interestingly, Navratilova herself has got an interest in writing. So far she has authored three books. The first one is her autobiography ‘Martina.’ Further, she came up with ‘Killer Instinct’, ‘Breaking Point’, and ‘The Total Zone’.
