After her comeback loss at the Libema Open, Venus’ fans had high expectations from her for the Birmingham Classic where she was given a wildcard entry. She had her first match against Camila Giorgi which she won in a three-round set.

However, in her second round, she was supposed to face Jelena Ostapenko. Even though Venus won the second round of the three-round set, she narrowly lost to Jelena and could not make her way into the first WTA quarter-finals in four years right after her comeback. Tennis fans and her fans, in general, might be disappointed, but even so, they will never fail to admire what a rockstar Venus has turned out to be.
