Katie Volynets, on the other hand, has secured a place in the main draw of this season’s Charleston Open after her brilliant wins in the qualifying rounds. In her first round of the WTA 500 event, the American player, who is an unseeded participant, recently managed to prevail in a three-set thriller, 6-2, 6-7, 7-6, against Arantxa Rus.

The R32 match between Emma Navarro and Katie Volynets at their home clay court tournament will also mark their second meeting on the women’s tour.
