The Hungarian tennis player, Amarissa Kiara Tóth, embroiled herself in a cheating whirlwind and has become the talk of the tennis world. With a series of antics towards her opponent, Zhang Shuai was forced to leave the Budapest Open, shocking the tennis world. But today, despite receiving a lot of criticism, the focus of the debate has changed; instead of the 20-year-old tennis player. Just a day ago, the Chinese tennis player retired from the match in tears after a tense incident with her opponent on the opening day of the Budapest Open. It all started when Zhang hit her crosscourt forehead, which appeared to land on the line. But the line judge and even the umpire called the ball out. After the 28-ranked tennis player continuously pleaded for the decision to be reconsidered, her opponent walked up to the mark. And rubbed it away with her foot, making a taunting gesture to our opponent.

After that incident, a lot of tennis fans bashed the Hungarian player for her action. But now, there’s a new turn: a Twitter user shared that the whole problem was created because of the bad umpiring and asked the WTA to take a firm decision regarding the negligence. Subsequently, Martina Navratilova quickly shared her take on the situation. She commented, “Pathetic from any angle—the umpire is not fit to call clay court matches, and Toth is a bad sport.”

After that, even though the 23-time Grand Slam champion’s ex-coach stepped onto the scene. In addition, commenting on the same post, he made a reference to how the Umpire might be the one at fault. Stubbs wrote, “And she was as bad today in a doubles match. I have spies!”

Nevertheless, before discovering the umpire angle, a lot of tennis players joined in the massive outrage by condemning Toth for her rude act.

The 33-year-old tennis pro used her Twitter account immediately after the event to raise her voice at the Hungarian tennis player’s action. She posted a video of the incident, in which the Chinese tennis star broke down in tears. And announced her retirement from the game, with a broken heart.
