During her post-match conference, Caroline talked about her father’s reaction to her comeback. Pointing out that he has been her coach her whole career, she stated, “As a parent, he always wants the best for his kids.

When Wozniacki let her father know that she was thinking of making a comeback, she stated, “I think he didn’t really expect it, but at the same time he was like, Okay, if this is what you want to do, I’m here for it, let’s just give it a go.”

The Danish tennis star rested her racquet back in 2020. However, at that point, she was not taking a rest or a break. She was parting ways with the sport to expand her family. Now, three years and two children later, Caroline Wozniacki picked up her racquet and felt her competitive spirit coming back. So, she came back. After trusting her guts and her talent, the former world no. 1 took down Petra Kvitova in the second round of the US Open.

This shows a promising picture of Wozniacki’s run at the US Open this year. Her best friend, Serena Williams, could reach the third round of the US Open last year. However, Wozniacki feels more confident after making a comeback and her father’s support is only adding to her confidence.
