The 19-year-old Coco Gauff faced a tough draw and stood out to everyone with one of the biggest victories to date at the Citi Open. She defeated Maria Sakkari in the final round of the tournament, her first on American soil. While the moment was quite precious for the 19-year-old after winning her Maiden WTA 500 title, she treated her fans with warmth and love as she signed almost everyone’s autograph request. But even after treating fans with love, there is something that the world’s 7th-ranked tennis player refuses to take part in with the audience.
Even though Gauff is a crowd-pleaser, she recently highlighted how she is not into giving out a lot of gifts after sharing an incident after her victory in Washington.

After winning her 4th overall title and her first 500 title, the world number 7 danced in front of the entire crowd to enjoy the moment with everyone. Not only that, she also turned down any of her fans who asked for autographs. But there is one activity, which she really doesn’t enjoy as a part of her and her fans’ interaction.
Following the victory, during a press conference, the 19-year-old talked about how she is not much into giving gifts, including her accessories or even her shoes, to her fans.
She said, “Some people asked for my shoes, but I needed to walk. Some people asked for my bracelet. I was, like, ‘This was a gift from someone. I can’t give you that’. They asked for my earrings and hair ties and everything. Usually, I don’t mind giving. I always try to.”
Further, she also talked about how sometimes she tries to ration things out because she is playing doubles just after the game or she has to compete in another tournament for which she might require her little necessities. That’s why she likes to say no to the gift part but fulfils her fans’ wishes if they want an autograph from her.
Not only that, she also knows how to take advantage of her fans’ love. During the same tournament, the 19-year-old effortlessly promoted her $5 billion brand with the help of her fans.
