‘Can You Give Me the Venus Eyes?’ – Serena Williams Has a Special Request After Seeing Naomi Campbell

Serena Williams is not just one of the greatest tennis players of all time, but her fame and success means she’s an A-list celebrity as well. Serena regularly attends some of the biggest fashion events and has also featured on the cover of numerous fashion and other magazines. 

Recently, a video of the former World No.1 surfaced on the internet. In the video, Serena was talking about model Naomi Campbell as she sat for her makeup routine. While talking, she asked her makeup artist for a unique look, inspired by her sister Venus Williams. 

Serena’s cheeky backhanded compliment to Venus

Serena was wearing a white dress, as the makeup artist was working on her lips. Williams talked about British model Naomi Campbell. She appreciated the 51-year-old’s lip color, and said, “I really like that Naomi Campbell lip color she had on the cover of British Vogue. See she’s inspiring everybody still.”

Serena asked her makeup artist to give her the like that of her sister Venus Williams. She went on to describe Venus’ eyes in a cheeky way, laughing as soon as she said this, “So Tasha, can you give me the Venus eyes? Like, I just want eyes of like a snake.”

The caption on the video at read, “Little sisters are the worst” and Venus Williams’ Instagram account was tagged. Serena did, however, clarify herself later and said that she was “just kidding” because she was “clearly bored.”

Serena has been a fashion icon for a long time. The American superstar has featured on some of the biggest fashion magazine covers like Vogue, Allure, Harper’s Bazaar, InStyle, GQ, VanityFair, etc. She has also been featured twice on the cover of the prestigious Times Magazine. 

In 2019, Serena debuted her own clothing line S by Serena at the eminent New York Fashion Week. While speaking to fashion magazine Vogue, Serena opened up about her love for fashion as she went on to explain how she developed a passion for it.

She said, “My mom used to make our outfits when we would play tennis. She taught me early on how to sew and how to make things—it’s always been something that inevitably I was going to be in.”
