As per the latest news, Italian tennis star Camila Giorgi used fake vaccination documents for traveling abroad. Amidst the covid-19 pandemic, the rules regarding travel were very strict. As the travel guidelines relaxed, the countries opted for a strict guideline to accept only vaccinated emigrants. For most parts of the world, like Australia and America, visitors needed a vaccination certificate to travel to the country.
While a few, like Djokovic, openly disagreed and sat out of tournaments, Giorgi’s case is one of a kind. Here’s the detailed information regarding the same.
Camila Giorgi used fake vaccination documents to travel abroad

As per the latest release from the Italian newspaper, La Repubblica Camila Giorgi is also among the clients of a doctor who was supplying fake covid-19 vaccination certificates. While the police is investigating the case, it is interesting to note that the tennis star used it to attend tennis tournaments abroad.

Giorgi last appeared in the US Open. She crashed out of the tournament after her first-round defeat. Notably, the Italian also attended a full-fledged American hard court swing that requires compulsory vaccination.
While the Italian police takes its due action after the revelation, it will be interesting to see how WTA reacts to the news.
Alex De Minaur had a similar accusation earlier this year

The Australian tennis star was on the list of 2200 suspected people who used forged certificates for covid-19 vaccination. Notably, Minaur got his first dose in London while he took the second dose in Spain.

As there was no confirmation against the Australian tennis star, he came out and rubbished the claims. The news came out in February this year and the police have not confirmed anything yet against the Australian tennis star.
