You might have heard about couples made for each other; have you ever met or considered friends who are always there for each other? While the sporting arena in general has seen a lot of beautiful friendships with time, one bond for the tennis world is something that is always going to be special. Just like the way Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert, who lit up the tennis court in the 70s and 80s, became good friends whilst sharing a heated on-court rivalry. Recently, the two got into the spotlight for a miscommunication that had to be straightened.

The 68-year-old found the perfect opportunity to reaffirm her feelings for her good friend, Navratilova. The confusion began when Navratilova shared a tweet where she called the former US president “a pathetic athlete” for flexing his tennis skills. Let’s take a look at how, while trying to define her mean stance, Evert openly acknowledged her equation with her former rival.

Recently, Martina Navratilova shared her reaction to the former president’s tennis skills on Twitter. She stated that his playing style was quite funny and even called him a pathetic athlete. Her friend Evert came forward to share her view on the same take. She also replied to the same post and talked about how making fun of him was just a mean thing.

She wrote, “That last part is just…….mean…” By the end of the video, President Biden’s clip of falling in front of the camera was also added, which is not known by a lot of Twitter users, and they started raising questions at Evert and Navratilova’s bond.

In no time, the American tennis legend herself came forward and clarified how she was talking about the last part of the video and not about Navratilova’s tweet. She highlighted how adding Biden’s part in the end was mean and not what Navratilova said about Donald Trump.  Evert wrote, “I would like to straighten something out! My comment of “ that’s….mean”, was NOT in reference to the @Martina tweet, but the tweet she was replying to, showing President Biden falling …THAT was mean!!! I❤️Martina!”

After making herself clear, she also reaffirmed her feelings for her dear friend and added that she still loves her. Nevertheless, nearly a month ago, the 66-year-old tennis legend also talked about how their real connections stood the test of time, and how they made their way through a journey called life.

Navratilova and Evert’s 50-year-old bond is unbreakable!

Nearly a month ago, the 59-time Grand Slam champion gave a heartfelt interview with Today and reflected on the special bond that she shares with Chris Evert. Navratilova emphasized how they have supported one another through life’s ups and downs as well as their battles with cancer. Along with that, she also shared an example of how their bond is quite precious. She stated how they have been with each other even during breakups, and she was by Navratilova’s side throughout her three marriages.

In addition, both of them have also been there during their fight with cancer. Earlier this year, when the Czech-American former tennis player was diagnosed with double cancer, her arch-rival, Chris Evert was by her side, supporting her in every way possible. After fighting against life’s unpredictable challenges, they have been friends for around 50 years and maintain an unbreakable bond to this day.
