The 29-year-old American tennis player is considered one of the richest tennis players as she is the daughter of Terry Pegula, a self-made businessman who owns NFL giants the Buffalo Bills. Even after being born to billionaire parents, she always knew that she wanted to make a name for herself as an individual and not just Terry’s daughter.
Recently, in an interview with Forbes, the American tennis player answered the people who doubted her tennis skills just because of the fact that she is rich. She said, “People say that, but I think everyone who knows kind of knows it’s not gonna happen unless someone’s really a hard worker & driven. I don’t worry too much about it. I think most people get that. Maybe some people who just don’t want to like me for whatever reason maybe will always say that.”

She continued by emphasizing that her commitment and perseverance have led to everything she has accomplished. Pegula stated, “But I can’t really change their minds. I’ve worked really hard. I definitely wouldn’t have gotten here if it wasn’t for that.”

Pegula can trade billions for Wimbledon
Earlier this year, after making it to the Wimbledon quarter-finals, she was not able to lift the title. While everyone has made her career all about money, there is something else that she wants more than money, and that is a Grand Slam title. In one of the press conferences of the tournament, she talked about how she would trade her billionaire status for a Wimbledon title.
She said, “It would be great to win Wimbledon, ’cause then I would also have a lot of money from winning Wimbledon. I think I would trade, yes. I think that would be, probably better.” Along with that, she also highlighted how she doesn’t really care about her billionaire status but cares more about her own career path.
