The 61st edition of the Billie Jean King Cup has managed to keep fans on the edge of their seats with some blockbuster qualifier games. In another exciting qualifier match, the former Grand Slam champion Emma Raducanu will lock horns with new number 49, Diane Parry, as Great Britain faces France.

After her round-of-32 defeat at the Indian Wells Masters, Emma Raducanu is now back on the court at the Billie Jean King Cup. In her first qualifier match, the former US Open champion pulled off a brilliant comeback after dropping the first set against the French No. 1 Caroline Garcia. In a two-hour and eight-minute clash, the British player came from a set and a break down to prevail in a three-set thriller, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Raducanu served brilliantly throughout the match, landing 72% of her first serves while her French opponent’s first serve percentage plummeted to 38% in the decisive set. The Brit also tallied 25 winners, and hit only 11 unforced errors.

Diane Parry, on the other hand, is coming to the international premier team competition after her round-of-64 defeat at the Miami Open. She marked her best campaign this season at the ATX Open, where she reached the quarterfinal round. On her home clay turf in Le Portel, Parry recently thumped the current British No. 1, Katie Boulter, in her first qualifier match.

The Frenchwoman, who recently became the new number 49, went on to win 12 straight games after being 2-0 down, winning with a score of 6-2, 6-0 against Boulter, who has yet to win a tour-level match on clay court.

Raducanu vs Parry: Head-to-Head

The qualifier match between Emma Raducanu and Diane Parry at this season’s Billie Jean King Cup will mark their first meeting on the tour. With no prior confrontations on the court between Raducanu and Parry, their H2H record is currently locked at 0-0.

Prediction: Parry to clinch another crucial win for France

The French player has experienced a breakthrough this season, reaching the top 50 rankings for the first time in her competitive journey. With her thumping first qualifier match win against her British opponent, Parry has now extended her record on clay court surfaces to 146/90. Given her current ranking and solid record on the clay surface, the Frenchwoman is the favorite to win this qualifier against Raducanu, who has only played a handful of games on clay as she currently has an 18/9 record.
