Jessica Pegula, leading the charge for Team USA in the upcoming Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers against Belgium, recently unveiled the firm tone carried by her team’s ambitions. On being asked about the team’s preparation status, Pegula explained the team’s determination with a deadpan expression, stating, “We don’t want to lose.”

This declaration revealed their focused approach, despite facing a seemingly overmatched competitor, lacking players in the top 250. Looking at Team USA’s remarkable roster for the upcoming competition against Team Belgium, Pegula, who is ranked world No. 5, will be supported by WTA star Madison Keys at No. 20.

“She said that she wants to play, so I’m really happy,” Team Japan’s captain Ai Sugiyama announced. Along with that, she also expressed her aspiration to be on top of the event, saying, “We’re aiming for the very top. The players have the potential.”
