2019 US Open champion Bianca Andreescu recently talked about her female inspirations growing up. She revealed that her mom was her main inspiration from childhood, and she taught her everything. Andreescu also revealed an interesting story about her 2019 US Open victory.
“My mom, because I mean, she’s taught me basically everything that I know. Funny story. She told me to write myself a check for the US Open and to just visualize that every single night. And I actually wrote the date of 2019 on it. And so for it to actually become a reality was insane,” Andreescu revealed.

Apart from her mom, the Canadian player also mentioned Billie Jean King and Kim Clijsters’ names as her female inspirations. She talked about having special respect for Billie Jean King for all the things she has done for women’s tennis. “Billie Jean King, because she’s been talking about equality in women’s sports all of her life and she’s created an incredible platform for herself. And I aspire to be like that,” Bianca stated.

“And Kim Clijsters. Because I grew up watching her play, I modeled a little bit of my game style towards hers and just her mental toughness and physical toughness on the court is super impressive,” Bianca further stated.
