Bianca Andreescu‘s presence at Roland Garros came out as a big surprise for the fans. The WTA star walked in to showcase her skills after keeping herself out for almost a year due to injury. A majority of the fans were concerned about her recovery status. While there were rumors about her quiet retirement from the tennis world, Andreescu recently held the mic to narrate a moment when she had second thoughts about calling it off.
Before the 2024 French Open, Andreescu’s last appearance was recorded back at the Canadian Open 2023, after which there was a long gap and plenty of untold stories about her time off. All of this started because of the back injury that she incurred back in 2023, which ended the season for Andreescu before the US Open.
Narrating the terrible experience in her recent podcast appearance, she said, “When I was injured, it was more when I had my mental time off where I really didn’t know if I wanted to come back. I just, I felt so much hatred towards it.”

It’s brought me so much it’s such a privilege to play the sport and be a professional athlete. I know it’s not all glamorous.”
The Canadian recently marked an end to her trail of absence at Roland Garros. Although there wasn’t a lot expected from her French Open participation as she came out fresh after a year, the Canadian made it to the third round where she faced a defeat against the finalist Jasmine Paolini.
