Bianca Andreescu and Eugenie Bouchard facing injury issues
2019 US Open Champion Bianca was in great form and was in the top 5 in the rankings in just the 3rd year of her professional career. She had a horrific knee injury that forced her to sit out for nearly a year. And the return was not as strong as expected.
After missing out on the complete 2020 season, Bianca Andreescu managed to reach last seasons’ Miami Open final but then retired mid-match against Ashleigh Barty.
Eugenie Bouchard also had similar issues over the years. 2014 Wimbledon Finalist was out of action since March last year due to a shoulder injury. She did make some appearances on the court, playing in some exhibition matches and games.
However, now Bouchard is also set for April’s return.

Andreescu, being a former Grand slam winner could find a relatively easy way to participate at the WTA tournaments. She is on probable’s list for Stuttgart in April. She ranks outside of top-30 right now and needs to use her protected ranking to get direct qualification for the tournament.
Else she is also eligible for Top-20 wild cards due to a Grand Slam title win. Either way Bianca could play in the indoor tournament at Stuttgart provided she feels it is the right time to participate in competitive matches.
