Victoria Azarenka has experienced her fair share of success on the tennis court. After two grand slams and being ranked 1 for a whopping 51 weeks, the Belarusian player has faced defeat in many places. As it is with players on tour, Azarenka has played matches and received bad beatdowns. During her Canadian Open stint, she recalled one of her worst losses at the hands of Venus Williams.
Although Azarenka vividly remembers the time she has been defeated by her, she holds the Williams sister in high regard. She has praised the two many times and even asks her fans to not forget their presence on the tour.

The Belarusian player has already won her first round of her Canadian Open against Magda Linette along with a bagel. Victoria Azarenka will move on to the second round of the tournament. In the post-match conference after her victory, she reminisces about a few years prior. She recalled the time when she returned from her pregnancy. During the interview, she recalled one of her worst losses to Venus Williams.
“I have terrible memory since I became a mom but one of um One of Those runs Cincinnati in 2021 was pretty amazing for me coming back after a long break everybody had a long way but I had a longer break. I was at the point where I didn’t know if I was going to play uh really again. And I had a I had a pretty pretty big beatdown by Venus the the tournament before that so I was uh I wasn’t discouraged.”
After the match, Azarenka had a terrible realization,?“But I was like oh God like I’ve lost like four or five matches in a row“. She did not let it cloud her mind. Azarenka pushed herself back to form and set her sights on the big trophies once again.
Azarenka starkly remembers the defeat she suffered at the hands of Queen V. Despite it, she pays her respect to the two sisters whenever she can.

The Belarusian player solidifies the history of Serena and Venus Williams
After her first round win in Wimbledon, Azarenka spoke to the press about the legacy of the Williams sisters. She urged the press and the fans of the sport to remember the two sisters as they are a huge part of the legacy of the sport. She also complimented them about their off court ventures and their open-minded approach to life.

No matter the outcome of their matches, the Belarusian player and the Williams sisters have no bad blood between each other.
