Konstantin hails from Minsk, just like his fellow Belarusian partner, Aryna Sabalenka. Although he spent most of his career in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), he represented the Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL for 3 seasons.
He retired from professional hockey at the age of 35 in 2016, while playing at Dinamo Minsk. Koltsov ended his previous marriage before getting together with Sabalenka in 2021. Sabalenka previously dated Matvei Bozhko, who also happens to be a Belarusian ice hockey player from Minsk.
