Since taking a step back from tennis, Naomi Osaka has not slowed down in her professional vision. While she is getting ready to make a comeback, during the time when she was pregnant, she worked on her other professional commitments. A hard worker, she left no stone unturned in the ticking off of her bucket list. In the past year, she has become an author of children’s books and established her own production company, making connections between the sporting and entertainment worlds. Now, she is reaping the rewards.

Months after establishing partnerships and gathering investments from LeBron James‘ investment company, there’s an exciting update for Osaka’s own media production company. ‘MINK!’ is a short film that was produced under the umbrella of the four-time Grand Slam champion’s entertainment company, Hana Kuma. It’s the same company that established a partnership with another, SpringHill, co-founded by the basketball legend LeBron James himself. And now, nearly a year after the release of the documentary that is based on the life of Patsy Takemoto Mink, the production house has shared an exciting nominations update.

Last year, in July, the 25-year-old Japanese tennis player released her first project based on the Japanese American who became the first woman of color ever elected to the US Congress. LeBron James’ investment played a huge role in Osaka’s production house

Nearly 5 months ago, the media company raised around $5 million in a fundraising round from none other than James’ SpringHill Co. With this huge backing, the Japanese tennis player’s production house is now successful enough to stand on its own and do well in the entertainment industry.

Along with that, the 38-year-old basketball legend’s company is planning to launch other companies in partnership with more athletes to expand their businesses and build experience for their own company and others like Hana Kuma.
