The TGL was founded in 2022 by two golf legends, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, alongside other entities. Serena Williams‘ husband, Alexis Ohanian, was among the first investors in the TGL. He owns the LAGC team along with his wife, Serena, his daughter, Venus Williams, and a few others. Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian’s elder daughter, Olympia, has shown some real interest in golf, and we’ve seen her having a few golf sessions alongside her dad. Perhaps this is what makes this investment in the TGL more meaningful. 

So, this isn’t just a business venture for this family! Speaking more about the real thought process behind this investment, Alexis Ohanian once said, “To wit, my wife Serena [Williams] and I have enjoyed as Olympia’s taken a liking to golf. This is another piece of the legacy I’m building for my family and I hope this team can become a part of many families’ lives, too.“

What does Serena Williams think about this sport and craze that has been going around surrounding the TGL? Well, Williams recently gave an interview with ESPN, and during that interview, she said, “It’s so exciting to be here as a team owner and just get a different look at things.” Talking about the walkouts that the TGL has newly introduced, she said, “It’s so wild. It’s something you see a little bit in tennis or all the time in basketball, right? We don’t really see it in golf. Actually, we never see that in golf. It’s so good to see their personalities and see them shine as golfers, as they are.“

What does she think about her golfing skills, though? Well, in reply to this question, she happily passed on the baton to her little daughter. Serena Williams said, “No, but I did hit last Sunday, and that counts. My daughter plays golf. One was playing, and one was rolling around on her back.
