Coco Gauff is quite confident before kick-starting her campaign at the 2025 AO
Coco Gauff‘s best record at the ‘Melbourne Slam’ came in 2024. She reached the SF last season but went down to the ultimate champion, Aryna Sabalenka in two sets. Does the 20-year-old American have any chance of winning the 2025 AO? Well, during a previous conversation in the podcast, Serena Williams’ former coach Rennae Stubbs was spotted reflecting her optimism on Coco Gauff’s chances at the first Grand Slam of the 2025 season.
She said, “I think after the way she finished the way she did that is going to be really interesting to see. I do believe she has absolutely put her hands up to be one of the favorites for the Australian Open.” Last year, Coco Gauff started her season on the highest note by winning the ASB Classic and reaching the SF in Melbourne. However, later on, we saw a dip in her form. Although she managed to make some deep runs in her next tournaments, she failed to deliver in the crucial moments. Her second title triumph came at the China Open in October and then she managed to finish the year on the highest note by beating China’s Qinwen Zheng in the final of the 2024 WTA Finals.
