Top-seeded Ashleigh Barty emerged as the winner of the Cincinnati Masters 2021. The Australian player thrashed Switzerland’s Jil Teichmann in straight sets to win the title. The final scoreline of the match was 6-3, 6-1.

This is Ashleigh Barty’s second Masters title of the year. Before conquering the Cincinnati Open 2021, the World No.1 player also won the Miami Open 2021 title. Interestingly, she didn’t lose a single set in the entire tournament.

Set-1: Ashleigh Barty dominates right from the beginning

Ashleigh Barty got off to a great start as she easily won the first game. However, Jil Teichmann equalized the scoreline in the very game at 1-1. The same story continued in the next four games and thus, the scoreline reached 3-3.

After taking the lead 4-3 in the seventh game, the World No.1 player finally broke and widened the margin to 5-3. She didn’t take long after this and won the set 6-3 on her very first set-point in 37 minutes.

Intriguingly, Teichmann didn’t even earn a single break-point in the whole set.

Set-2: Game, Set, Match, and Title for Barty

Even though Teichmann saved three break-points in the first game, Barty capitalized on the fourth one and thus, broke in the very first game. She won the following service game and as a result, established a 2-0 lead over her opponent.

Surprisingly, Barty broke yet again in the third set. Teichmann seemed absolutely clueless at this time and she had to do something in order to survive in the match. However, the Australian gave her no chance and took her lead to 4-0 at the end of the fourth game.

Barty broke for the third time in the fifth game and won her eighth consecutive game. She was so close to a bagel but Teichmann showed some fighting spirit and broke in the sixth game to reduce the margin to 5-1.

However, it was too late for the Swiss player as Barty broke for the fourth time and won the set 6-1. As a result, she won the Cincinnati Masters 2021 title.
