The sneakers’ Asymmetrical designs highlighted the “quintessential Naomi Osaka” style showing off the brand’s commitment to the athlete. Osaka’s vibrant red right shoe represented “strength, power and good luck” featuring a mythical dragon, and her left shoe channeled the vibe of a “calming aura” of the player’s favorite flowers in bright blue. Naomi Osaka showcases excitement after designing her Australian Open kit
Osaka’s multi-year contract with Nike since 2019 has brought to the fore an interesting talent of the Japanese WTA star. She designed her 2024 Australian Open kit and revealed her excitement regarding this. “I realize not a lot of people know that I designed my Australian Open outfit for 2024. Idk why Nike let me do this but I’m excited for everyone to see the outfits to come lol,” Osaka wrote while sharing a glimpse of her outfit on her IG story.
The former Australian Open champion always received special treatment from Nike and is often spotted in their exclusive designs. Not to forget her 2024 US Open outfit that flaunted a pretty bow at her back, showcasing the brand’s creativity and aesthetics. “The inspiration that fueled the look for me — and this might be a Japanese term — is feeling like a ‘magical girl’ on the court. There’s a moment of transformation for me when I walk onto the court, and I have a lot of fun playing, so wanting everyone who sees the outfit to connect with that feeling is a really big motivation for me,” said Osaka in a statement.

She further confessed, “Because I had the tutu and then I had the bow jacket and it was green, I feel like everyone was staring at me funny. And then I put the headphones on, that was a real killer. I was, like, you know what, embrace this maximalist style. And then it made me feel better.”
Osaka’s partnership with Nike highlights the positivity of professional collaborations showcasing how these collaborations can sometimes bring out the athletes’ hidden talent as well.
