Among all the prepping up for Indian Wells 2024, the Belarusian tennis star Aryna Sabalenka didn’t forget her love for Barbie. First introduced in 1959, Barbie went on to don its iconic pink in 1973 and has been an important toy since childhood for many. Following that influence, Sabalenka also picked up a pink outfit in the Indian Wells Masters, as an ode to her favorite character.

Sabalenka often showed her love for Barbie during interviews and on her social media page. She even planned to dress as the doll for a special event but couldn’t partake due to an ongoing tournament. Her love will be realized halfway in the Indian Wells.
