The 2025 season has barely begun and fans are already getting thrilling updates surrounding their favourite sporting giants. For starters, WTA star Aryna Sabalenka was featured on her sponsor Nike’s custom merch. And, she wasn’t the only highlight in the company’s latest project. Notably, Nike paid tribute to its biggest ten female stars after unveiling an envy-worthy apparel piece via social media, slated to hit the stores on Sunday, February 9.

The update comes against the backdrop of the highly anticipated Super Bowl LIX, scheduled to kick off on the apparel’s release date. While fans are already excited about the event’s halftime show, scheduled to welcome Pulitzer prize-winning rap artist Kendrick Lamar, Nike found it best to hype the community more with its latest custom ‘Just Do It’ t-shirt.

Reports show us that the sporting label’s stirring project will showcase ten of its biggest sponsored women athletes, adequately covering all the star personalities from different sports. The names include Sabalenka, Caitlin Clark, Jordan Chiles, Alexia Putellas, Paige Bueckers, Sabrina Ionescu, JuJu Watkins, Sophia Smith, A’ja Wilson, and Sha’Carri Richardson. Fans received the exciting update on X, where the official t-shirt was also showcased.

Nike’s latest merch comes days after Belarusian Sabalenka finished finalist at the Australian Open. Although the World No. 1 couldn’t bag her dream three-peat in Melbourne, it was a win-win for the sporting label regardless as their sponsored athlete Madison Keys lifted her maiden Slam title at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne Park. They even celebrated her victory by dedicating a heartfelt post for her on their social media handles. However, that doesn’t mean Sabalenka wasn’t affected.

Her Melbourne heartbreak took a major emotional toll on the three-time Slam winner.

Aryna Sabalenka makes honest admission about Australian Open loss to Madison Keys

Belarusian superstar Aryna Sabalenka, although wasn’t reduced to tears during her Australian Open runner-up trophy presentation, but her disappointing loss to American Madison Keys broke her from the inside. Two weeks after that defeat, the WTA ranking leader finally opened up about dealing with the emotions that came with it.

She is slated to perform in the season’s first WTA 1000 Masters at the Qatar Open in Doha. Subsequently, during a pre-tournament presser, Sabalenka addressed the emotional turmoil of her AO title clash loss. “This one was the toughest one. I think for a week I was still thinking about that match.” She later admitted that she is now ‘regret-free’ and all set to focus on the upcoming tour-level calendar events.

“Honestly, looking back and thinking about those two lost games (in the final set), I didn’t do anything wrong, she just played out of her mind, and it was her day, there’s nothing to regret. I think right now I’m fully recovered after that tough match,” she added.

Being the top-seeded player in Doha earns her a bye in the opening round, meaning that the 26-year-old will lock horns with British wildcard Emma Raducanu or Russia’s Ekaterina Alexandrova in the event’s second round on Tuesday, February 11.
