While the exact details about how and when the couple started dating, their romantic alliance is definitely not new. 

In December 2023, the WTA Star took to her Instagram to share a picture with Mathias with both of them holding dogs as they enjoyed their time in Italy. Besides, she posted another picture in January 2024, where she was seen draped in her beau’s arms, as she welcomed the New Year. Yet another video, posted by the couple in March last year, gave a sneak peak into their lives as they were seen going for grocery shopping and cooking together. 

Remember, Mathias is known to be one of the tour’s snazziest dressers. At the Qatar TotalEnergies Open last year, the couple was captured together, exchanging some adorable moments and kissing each other. He was seen wearing satin pajamas, as well as bold, colorful Hawaii-style shirts paired with linen pants. Notably, he is often seen wearing similar outfits and has garnered enough attention. He also boasts an array of tattoos on his arms, featuring a rose, praying hands, and the word “terrible,” among many other inks. And guess what? Even the tennis star is a fan of his fashion sense. 

When a post of him went viral on X with the caption, “the biggest fashion legend in all of tennis,” Pavlyuchenkova was quick to reshare and wrote, “He is.” But besides this, she has also spoken highly of the support she gets from Mathias, which helps her immensely during adversities. “I’m so grateful because he’s been super supportive pushing me through. He’s the one who believes in me most, even more than I do. That helps and that’s very important for me, especially at this stage of my career,” she said about him. 

Tennis-wise, the star player is depicting immense resilience despite her age. And guess what? As she entered the quarterfinals, she decided to take a cheeky jibe at the youngsters on the court

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova has reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open for the fourth time in her career. Despite being 33 years old, she has embarked on her 20th professional season. The Russian star started to make waves on the courts as the junior champion in 2006 and has remained determined since then, with her focus totally on maintaining motivation and enjoying the game. But there is one more thing that she is ensuring to add to her personality, and it is humor.

Soon after winning against Vekic, she approached the camera and wrote, “Too old but still here, oops!” She continued to reflect the same during her post-match interview as well. When quizzed if she was surprised to enter the quarterfinals, she turned the question in a cheeky take on all the young players on tour.  “Question is to the young girls, because I’m still here and I’m in the quarterfinal,” Pavlyuchenkova said, adding, “Maybe better to ask them why I’m still here and I’m still winning.”

Now, as she continues her run, it will be interesting to see if she can pull out the biggest upset of the season by defeating Sabalenka on Tuesday. Will love and skills help her achieve more? That remains to be seen.
