Like most other Americans, young sensation Coco Gauff is also an avid American football fan. In the past, the 18-year-old has often been heard talking about her love for the sport. She has always asserted that her favorite team since childhood has been two-time NFL champions Miami Dolphins. Being an ardent Dolphins fan since her childhood, she finally got to live her fan moment yesterday.

Gauff, who is currently in Miami playing at the Miami Masters, yesterday night lived one of her biggest moments. World No. 17, who was a regular visitor of Miami Dolphins games in her young days, met the outside linebacker of the team, Jaelan Phillips.

Jaelan Phillips started his football career, playing for his college at UCLA. Going. Seeing his high potential and skills, Philipps was drafted to Miami Dolphins at the 2021 NFL Draft.

Phillips recently visited the Hard Rock Stadium to enjoy some tennis action. Following Gauff’s match, she indulged in a quick chat with Phillips. Even though the conversation between the two wasn’t clear, one can imagine that they had a discussion about Dolphins. Gauff also seemed to share her visits to the Dolphins game as a kid.

Coco Gauff has been inconsistent since the start of the 2022 season. She started her year with a second-round loss at Adelaide International 1. However, raising her game, she bettered her record, reaching the semifinal of Adelaide International 2. However, her run to the later rounds was short-lived.

Despite reaching the semis in Adelaide, she slumped at the Australian Open, crashing out in the tournament opener. She further worsened her year record, again facing a first-round loss in Dubai. Not losing hope, she next played at the Qatar Open. Unlike the previous two tournaments, Coco this time reached the quarterfinals in Qatar. Following her quarterfinal run in Doha, she next played at the Indian Wells Masters, facing a third-round exit at the hands of Simona Halep.

Gauff is currently playing in Miami. Entering the tournament as the 14th seed, she received a first-round bye. In her second round, the 18-year edged past Wang Qiang 7-5, 6-4. She will lock horns against Zhang Shuai in her third round at the Miami Masters!
