Legendary American tennis player Venus Williams has already announced that she will not take part in this year’s Wimbledon. Currently, the tennis star is recovering from an injury.

However, in a recent video, we saw Venus practicing with a promising young American tennis player. Interestingly, Richard Williams was also there, coaching the teenager.
Venus Williams returns to the tennis court with Richard Williams by her side
The 7-time Grand Slam winner Venus Williams was practicing with the 17-year-old American teenager, Alexis Blokhina. According to reports, the teenager was preparing for Wimbledon and took the opportunity to practice with Venus.

Incidentally, this was the first time in many months we saw Venus practice with intensity on the tennis court. Also, her father, the legendary Richard Williams, was observing the practice session closely. After their practice, they all posed together for a picture.

Notably, Wimbledon is one of Venus’ favorite Grand Slam tournaments, winning the event 5 times in her career. Now, she is possibly passing some of her expert knowledge about the Wimbledon Championships to the young American, who has a singles ranking of 792 at the moment.

During a recent question-and-answer session on Instagram, a fan asked Venus about her participation at this year’s Wimbledon. Although the American tennis legend was sad to announce her withdrawal, she felt pretty excited to see her younger sister Serena back on the tennis court. It is worth noting that the Williams Sisters are still undefeated in the doubles tournament at Wimbledon. They have a hundred percent record there, winning 6 titles.

Currently, Venus is 42 and pretty much at the end of her career. Her last match was in August last year when she played at an event in Chicago. She appears to be slowly transitioning from a player to a coach. However, many fans are still waiting for her return to the tour, possibly for one last stint before she retires.
