The American star won her opening round in the Eastbourne International tournament against Bernarda Pera and posted a selfie of her triumph on Instagram with a funky caption.

Gauff defeated Pera in straight sets,? 6-3 6-2. Since Pera is still an up-and-coming player, Gauff overpowered her easily. As the rounds progress, she has to encounter more skilled and experienced professionals on a surface that has troubled her thrice in a row. Her recent social media activity shows that she is enjoying the process.

On her Instagram story, Gauff posted a selfie of her with the caption, “You know I gotta snap a pic when it is golden hour.” In the picture, the nineteen-year-old is flaunting her braids and focusing on her face, which is glowing in the sunlight. After winning the game, she soaked in the Vitamin D and looked content, yet confident, for the upcoming challenges.
