American Legend Chris Evert Shares Concerning Cancer Update as ESPN’s Australian Open Plans Take a Hit

Tennis legend Chris Evert recently revealed to her fans that her life-threatening disease is back to haunt her once again.  Evert who has been both an eminent tennis star and a renowned ESPN analyst, has been fighting cancer for two years now. Her journey and challenges have become evidence of true resilience for many including Martina Navratilova, who successfully defeated her cancer. However, once again she has to go through the tough battle against this life-threatening disease.

Chris Evert has always been vocal about her battles against cancer. It has inspired many people. However, Evert’s recent message stirred sadness among her fans, who now surely pray for their favorite idol’s quick and permanent recovery.

Christ Evert confirms her fans about the return of her cancer

Recently Evert shared an official statement, where she revealed her cancer news to the fans. Evert wrote-” Since I was First Diagnosed with cancer two years ago, I’ve been very open about my experience. I wanted to give all of you an update. My cancer is back. While this is a diagnosis I never wanted to hear, I once again feel fortunate that it was caught early. Based on a PET CT scan, I underwent another robotic surgery this past week. Doctors found cancer cells in the same pelvic region. All cells were removed, and I have begun another round of chemotherapy.

Not only did she disappoint fans with such crucial news, Evert will not be present at the 2024 Australian Open due to health reasons. She added-“I will be unable to join my colleagues when ESPN makes its return to Melbourne for the Australian Open next month. But I’ll be ready for the rest of the Grand Slam season! I encourage everyrone to know your family history and advocate for yourself. Early detection saves lives. Be thankful for your health this holiday season.” Now fans are really sad since the upcoming Australian Open will start without the marvelous commentary of Christ Evert.

Evert shared her sadness about missing out on Major Indian Wells due to health reasons

Chris Evert’s battle with cancer has been really prolonged. In March this year, Evert officially shared that she would not be attending the renowned Indian Wells tournament due to her health issues. Now many fans felt disappointed since they badly wanted Evert’s commentary.
