Tennis legend Billie Jean King advocated the fight against gender inequality in sports. She fought hard to ensure women’s sports were brought to par with that of the men’s, particularly tennis. She achieved much success in her fight, which also paved the way for the foundation of the Women’s Tennis Association in 1973. Later, she passed the baton to other players like Navratilova, Evert, and now, Venus and Serena Williams, who led the fight during their careers.
