Serena Williams is ready to let go of her illustrious tennis career. After making a comeback at 40, she is now looking ahead toward the second phase of her life. However, she is currently fully focused on the ongoing US Open. On Monday, she defeated the Montenegrin tennis star, Danka Kovinic, to move into the second round.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion escaped the embrace of a gruesome hamstring injury to return to the circuit. Therefore, her initial events didn’t do justice to the legend’s caliber. However, she looks strong and dominant in the ongoing Grand Slam. Speaking of which, being the last tournament of Williams, it has become a fest for the tennis fraternity. And to decorate it to the fullest, Twitter has brought an emoji.

Twitter has dedicated a GOAT icon tossing a serve wearing a similar outfit as the former World no.1’s US open attire in the previous seasons. Upon stumbling on this excellent piece of art, Ohanian wrote in one of his Instagram stories, “I love Twitter for this Serena Williams.”

Ohanian himself is very active on the social media platform, therefore an homage to his legendary wife from their end was special to the cofounder of Reddit. Further, after cheering for the Williams in the grass courts of London, the father-daughter was seen doing the same at the US Open.
The unseeded Williams has made a grand entry by outclassing Danka Kovinić in the opening round. Now she will eye a similar performance in the second round.

The six-time US Open champion in order to advance in her last tournament will have to take down Kontaveit. The Estonian professional and the current World No.2. Anett Kontaveit secured an excellent win in the first round, just like Williams.
However, Kontaveit has had a similar season to Serena’s, often underwhelming in tournaments prior to the US Open. Therefore, one can expect a thrilling match between an almost equal stage of form and prowess ahead. Williams will meet the 26-year-old for the first time in the hard courts of America on 31 August.
