Ailing ‘King’ Richard Poses for an ‘After Dark’ Memory With Daughter Venus Williams

The seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams has recently posted an after-dark selfie, sharing a little moment with her father. She is setting higher standards for all the daughters out there! The 43-year-old American tennis legend shares a great relationship with her doting father, Richard Williams.

Richard Williams has played a very crucial role in his daughter’s life, as he is the one who got her and her younger sister, Serena, into the tennis circuit. But now, even after so many years and enjoying her time on the professional front, the father-daughter bond between them remains the same.

Venus Williams shares an adorable picture with her father

The 43-year-old American tennis legend has rallied through her career and is still quite active on the tennis circuit. As she is enjoying her off-season, she took some time off from her schedule to spend quality time with her father. Venus Williams recently took to her Instagram account to share a selfie with her dad.

Along with that picture, she wrote, “Me and dad after dark.” Subsequently, it was an evening selfie, and the both of them spent some time on a basketball court, as they both looked all smiles. In that picture, the former world number-one-ranked tennis player was seen wearing a green jacket while having her hair tied up.

While it was a little blurry picture, their smiles spoke a lot about the beautiful moments the father-daughter duo spent together. However, with his growing age, King Richard has been dealing with a lot of ailments. In the past few years, the 81-year-old former American coach has faced three brain strokes and also had brain surgery, because of which he has distanced himself from the sport.

Nevertheless, this is not the first time the eldest Williams’ sister has been seen hanging out with her father. While the 23-time Grand Slam champion is quite busy since welcoming her second child, Venus, on the other hand, is trying to give every possible attention to her father.

A few months ago, the seven-time Grand Slam champion shared a goofy picture with her father for her fans. She took to her Instagram account to share two pictures, depicting the amazing father-daughter bond the duo shared. The first picture was a selfie of two, with a clear question, which apparently led to the second story.

She wrote, “How did this turn into…” After that, in the second story, she was making a goofy face about why her father looked at the ground. While the former American tennis coach is still taking steps step by step towards progression in his health, his eldest daughter is making sure to be the strength to his father that he was during her early tennis days.
