Young Coco Gauff is going places in the world of tennis. The teenage tennis sensation was rampant for Team USA in the recently concluded Billie Jean King Cup qualifier against Austria. Going forward, there are huge expectations on Gauff’s shoulders to deliver the goods at the 2023 French Open.
Despite being only 19, Gauff is still doing her bit to inspire youngsters who want to follow in her footsteps. During the qualifier against Austria, Gauff did something special for the ball kids, who are sure to remember the star’s gesture for a long time to come.

Gauff is already a role model for kids, especially girls. Coincidentally, the crew of ball kids present for the Billie Jean King Cup qualifier against Austria featured only girls. Gauff, along with New Balance, her sponsor, took this opportunity to do something incredible for the girls with the aim of inspiring them to pursue excellence in tennis.
She gifted the youngsters her signature ‘Coco Classics’ trainers. Gauff played an important role in designing the trainers as she collaborated with sportswear giants New Balance. Every pair of ‘Coco Classics’ trainers feature the message, “You can change the world with your racket.”
For Gauff, launching her signature pair of trainers was a special moment. Even the likes of Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka, two of Gauff’s idols, don’t have their signature trainers.
Gauff will be hoping she can match the feats of Williams and Osaka on the tennis court in the coming years as well.

What next for Gauff?
So far, 2023 has been something of a mixed bag for Gauff. Her fourth-round exit at the Australian Open was disappointing. However, her performances bounced back at the 2023 Qatar Total Open and Miami Open. She clinched the respective doubles titles with Jessica Pegula across both events.
Gauff is yet to clinch a Grand Slam title, but the American’s mind will be set on the 2023 French Open, which starts on May 28. Experts expect Gauff to do well.
