After just making a comeback at the Australian Open 2024 after a long mental health break in 2023, Amanda Anisimova had to withdraw from the Miami Open due to an injury. Unfortunately, a muscle strain forced the American tennis player to pull out from subsequent tournaments where she was expected.
Regardless of her injury and break from the sport, Amanda Anisimova has continued to spend quality time off the court as she recovers. Last year, she reportedly enrolled in on-campus college classes and developed a love for art. Recently she posted a bunch of stories on her social media where she was enjoying a music festival with her loved ones.

The 22-year-old tennis star had a decent run at the first grand slam of the year as she reached the 4 round of the tournament. However, an injury changed the trajectory of her progress and caused her to withdraw from the Miami Open at the last minute. However, Anisimova has continued to keep her spirits high even during this time of negativity as she attended a musical festival recently. According to her Instagram stories, she attended the Ultra Music Festival with a friend. In one of Anisimova’s stories, she also stated, “Ultra was 10/10”.
In 2023, it wasn’t even sure if Anisimova would ever step back onto a court. Stating burnout, the young American announced a break from tennis in May last year, by which point she had not won a match in the last two months. 2024 had a good beginning but things have taken a surprising twist again. Ashlyn Krueger has taken her place in the main draw at Miami.
Unfortunately, Amanda Anisimova is not the only player who withdrew from the tournament this year. There are 3 more players who did so. Let’s find out why!

The other 3 players who pulled out of the Miami Open 2024 tournament are Mirra Andreeva, Maya Sherif, and Karolina Muchova. Muchova pulled out of the tournament because she claimed that she was still recovering from the surgery she had on her wrist. In fact, she withdrew from the Australian Open too due to the same reason. Jacqueline Cristian replaced Karolina Muchova in the tournament.
Mirra Andreeva shared that she has been suffering from arm tendonitis, so she had to pull out of the tournament to recover and be well-rested for the clay court season. Camila Giorg replaced Mirra Andreeva in the tournament.
