What’s better than winning a Grand Slam? Well, how about getting back your lost Grand Slam trophies? For American tennis legend Pam Shriver, life just threw in a happy plot twist. A few weeks ago, Shriver found herself in a nightmare when her car—and all her cherished Grand Slam trophies—were stolen. Heartbroken and furious, she took to social media to vent her frustration, leaving fans equally shocked and concerned. But now, there’s good news – as Shriver is getting back her precious mementos and she couldn’t be happier!
The entire chaos started to unfold during the LA wildfires. For the unversed, the Hall of Famer was on vacation with her children when the wildfires broke out in Los Angeles. As she returned, Shriver was assisted in getting to a safe hotel by a neighboring family. However, things took an unexpected turn when Shriver’s car, parked outside the hotel room was stolen. It had an entire career’s worth of Major trophies. But to Shriver’s relief, the police have now recovered them.
Taking to X, the 62-year-old wrote, “Good news on my trophies (& family photos)- the LAPD detective in charge of the investigation has them at the police station being finger printed. It’s too long a story for a post.” However, she revealed that her car was still to be found. “We still hope to find black Dodge Durango Hellcat in one piece. 🙏” But what caught the attention further was the heartfelt remark that came from none other than Martina Navratilova.

“That is just awesome!!!! Well done the Police!!!” Shriver’s doubles partner wrote, exuding happiness. Shriver did not hold back in expressing the feeling after recovering the slams. “Thanks for calling partner. Today feels like we won another major! Yes yea police. Now let’s see if car makes it home,” she wrote. Remember, once upon a time. Pam Shriver and Martina Navratilova formed a formidable pair on the courts and were thought to be unbeatable.

The duo won 74 titles together as they partnered up in the doubles category. Notably, 20 of Shriver’s total 21 doubles Grand Slams came alongside Navratilova. Hence, the joy depicted by both of them is quite understandable. Meanwhile, despite the adverse situations Shriver faced due to the wildfires, Shriver did not cut herself off from the tennis world. She was totally tuned in for the AO matches – especially her mentee Donna Vekic’s – and let’s just say, tennis remained at the top of her mind.

Pam Shriver kept challenges aside to support Donna Vekic at the Australian Open
Pam Shriver could not make it to Melbourne and decided to take care of her family in Los Angeles as wildfires broke out. However, her passion for tennis remained unchanged as she continued to watch her pupil, Donna Vekic, play some sensational tennis at the Australian Open. But guess what? The experience was not free from challenges either!
Taking to X, the 62-year-old earlier commented on a video that highlighted Vekic’s dominant showdown in her second-round match. Shriver wrote, “Watched match point by point on AO app but could not figure out how to find it streamed in US. You don’t sweat the small stuff in LA atm!! 🙏” Continuing further, she also reflected the additional challenges she endured to tune into Vekic’s match.

“I have never slept in same room as three rescue cats, but these are unusual times in LA. I am starting at 4:45am because long played with Donna’s match. Starting at 4:50 am how much sleep can I get?” she wrote. However, things seem to be settling now, with Shriver gradually overcoming the adverse effects of the unexpected disaster. Now, with the loose ends being tied up, its only a matter of time before she steps back to resume her coaching duties.
