Naomi Osaka hasn’t had the best season of her tennis career this year. The four-time Grand Slam champion has been plagued by injuries and an inconsistent run of form in 2022. Additionally, she is yet to win a title this year, with her best result coming at the Miami Open where she finished as the runner-up.

Further, in the ongoing US Open, she lost in the opening against Danielle Collins of the United States. It was a disappointing comeback for Osaka after missing the Wimbledon Championships, having just a solitary win in four tournaments. Recently, she shared some memories from her time at the US Open this year.
Naomi Osaka has a special place for her dog, Butta
The 24-year-old took to Instagram to share some pictures and videos from her US Open campaign. In one of the videos, she showcased her new headphones. They were special for the Japanese star as they had her dog, Butta’s picture imprinted on it.

Additionally, Osaka also shared a few pictures from her match and practice sessions. Recently, she also unveiled her new shoes, inspired by her dog. Giving a glimpse of her shoes, Osaka said, “Comfy…Butta/Naruto shoes for NY.”

Osaka has had happy memories from the past at the US Open. Her maiden Grand Slam title came at this very tournament after she defeated Serena Williams in the summit clash to lift the 2018 US Open trophy. Further, she also won the title in 2020.
Osaka to suffer a major setback in her WTA ranking
After a disappointing result in Flushing Meadows, the former World Number 1 is set to suffer a major blow to her WTA ranking. As a result of her first-round exit, Osaka will lose crucial WTA ranking points after she had reached the third round last year.
