Coco Gauff has done better in doubles than singles this year. Her Wimbledon Championships exit in the first round was a major blow. After that, the American has been working with Pere Riba since the Eastbourne International tournament. The Spanish coach is new to the field and has only coached two upcoming players to date. For the Citi Open, Gauff also worked with Andre Agassi’s ex-coach, Brad Gilbert. The teenager exhibited an incredible performance and won the title as soon as Gilbert stepped up.

Experts and legends are hailing the duo, and fans request them to continue working together. Gilbert, who previously worked with champions like Andy Roddick and Andy Murray celebrated his teamssuccess. The team, guided by Gilbert himself, savored French food and even revealed the compliments he received for his taste from the French Open finalist.

After their brief coaching period, Gilbert went on an outing with Gauff’s team in Montreal. As the majority of the people in Montreal are French, it is only natural to explore the cuisine française, which is as good as the cuisine in France. The former tennis professional lauded a particular restaurant approved by Gauff.

On his official Twitter handle, the 61-year-old shared the official website of the restaurant he loved and rated the steak by Gauff a 4.8 out of 5. He wrote, “Moishes | Steakhouse à Montréal | Depuis 1938 been a few years since i have been, this classic had been 100 years in old place and they recently reopened new hipper place,food 🥘was so solid really fun 🤩 time with team last night, Coco gives 4.8 out of 5.”

The 7th seed in WTA singles bagged the biggest title of her career under the guidance of Gilbert in Washington. The team celebrated this success with delicious food before Gauff could start practicing for her next tournament.

After winning the Citi Open 2023, the former WTA doubles No. 1 revealed in the post-match conference that she feels at home in Montreal. Gauff is actively working on her French as her fitness coach is a native of France. She also tries to sign for as many fans as possible as the Citi Open winner feels respected in Montreal, Canada.

This is Gauff’s first title after winning the Auckland Open. Gilbert was the coach of Agassi when he won 3 majors out of 5 he played. Now the American coach guided his compatriot to win the Citi Open, a singles title she won after 2 years.
