After Fueling Dating Rumors With Rapper Common, American Singer Jennifer Hudson Slapped With a Serena Williams Warning

Serena Williams is in the happiest relationship of her life right now. Married to her wonderful husband, Alexis Ohanian, she co-parents with him to bring up their little five-year-old daughter, Olympia. However, Alexis isn’t Serena’s first. Besides creating a legacy on the tennis court, Serena had a pretty interesting love life as well. Serena spent almost three years dating her ex-boyfriend, Lonnie Rashid Lynn…sound familiar? Well, you might know him by his stage name- Common!

However, Common has resurfaced in the news among Serena fans who are now discussing the talented musician Jennifer Hudson’s dating choices. Jennifer is believed to have been dating Common who is, as her fans believe, a red flag. Over his relationship with many talented, gorgeous women, Common has now come up as someone who is not “worthy” of Jennifer. Twitter and Instagram are swarming with fans asking JHud not to make this mistake.

Serena Williams’ fans don’t want Jhud to get hurt this time

Further pushing their dating rumors, Jennifer recently went viral on Instagram for a post with Common. It read, “Team Jhud pls help me wish one of the brightest lights, a Chicago and hip hop legend, the one and only @common a very happy birthday on today !”

To this, her fans have not reacted kindly.

“Her new boo? I hope not, she can do better. Don’t get me wrong he’s a great person, but he doesn’t commit and he’s hurt several. But happy birthday 🎂,” says one.

Calling her a casual piece in his scheme of grand dating, another fan remarked, “This man has commitment issues please don’t be another piece in his jigsaw puzzle 😩”.

A fan really tried to make her case against Common with the following comment- “Chile, just look at all the women he broke up with–Erykah Badu, Serena Williams, Taraji, Tiffany Haddish–to name a few. They are beautiful, intelligent, and successful. It’s not just them. Going Instagram Official? Too early boo. Let him deserve it first. What has he done to deserve that public acknowledgment? That smooth, woke, nature-loving, spoken-word, jibber jab talk? No ma’am.”

On the other hand, Dish Nation also brought up this topic in one of their recent episodes – Should Jen date Common or not? As per usual, there were mixed opinions.

Common and Serena: did they really date?

Well, yes. The rapper and tennis legend did have a relationship that was rumored to be on and off between the years 2007 and 2010. However, even after their breakup, Common and Serena have only great things to say about each other. Serena accepted that the dating rumors were true in a Wendy Williams show and Common stated in 2015 that he really cares about Serena even after their breakup.
