Coco Gauff has become the talk of the town recently with her landmark victory in Washington. She has gained a large fan-foll0wing, not just with her racket skills but also with her charisma and some brilliant on-court interviews. However, one thing that intrigues every viewer is how she manages to compete in top form across so many tournaments.
Usually, the top-ranked players rest for about three weeks in the post-Wimbledon swing and step on the court again for Rogers Cup. Gauff, however, entered the Citi Open, won the title on Sunday, and then arrived in Montreal the next morning to start her new campaign. But what’s the secret behind Gauff’s unparalleled energy?

Before starting her campaign, Gauff sat for her mandatory pre-tournament press conference. It was a pretty brief interview where the questions mainly revolved around her Washington title. However, a journalist was curious about how she gets going with a negligible amount of rest considering that she is also a regular doubles player.
In reply to the journalist’s question, Gauff said, “I lost first round at Wimbledon (laughs) so I had a lot of energy. To play for DC, I didn’t play doubles that week. I am playing doubles this week with Jess.” She then explained why she did not participate in doubles in Washington. The energetic star?added, “I wanted to play both this week because if this week goes well, Cincinnati could be up in the air and then that would be three tournaments back to back. Jess and I won this last year, so I wanted to come and play again.”
The bottom line is that Gauff plans her schedule really well. Being a regular doubles player makes it very difficult, but having a partner like Jessica Pegula also helps. The duo share a special bond on and off-court, which shows in their exchanges!

Gauff and Pegula share one of the most special bonds in the WTA tour. A few months ago, the 19-year-old gifted a pair of Bose headphones to Pegula. However, it wasn’t an ordinary headset. The device was adorned in the colors of the American flag, which made it extra special.
The gift overwhelmed Pegula as she had gone on to acknowledge Gauff on her Instagram. It was indeed a beautiful gesture and an even more incredible headset design from the 19-year-old. Whether on or off the court, the two clearly make a great pair.
