The 19-year-old Coco Gauff has seen a lot of ups and downs in her promising tennis career. Yet, it appears that while she created several records last year, she also had her worst downward trajectory. But now, in order to change the trajectory of her tennis career, Gauff has made a hugely important decision that could resurrect her tennis career to its rightful place.

She had her coaching staff by her side, though, whether she was winning or losing on the tennis court. But, to come out of the poor form that she in currently, the 19-year-old has made the difficult decision to part ways with her coach, Diego Moyano, for personal reasons.

Throughout their one-year partnership, the dynamic duo achieved a lot on the tennis circuit, so the unexpected parting announcement shocked the tennis world. Since the Argentine tennis coach joined Gauff’s coaching staff, the two of them have achieved incredible heights and the young American has cemented a spot among the top tennis players in the world.

However, just a few hours ago, the former tennis player took to his Instagram account to release a heartfelt statement expressing gratitude for his amazing times with the American tennis player and her family. Additionally, he also praised the young athlete’s personality, both on and off the tennis court.

He wrote, “After a fantastic year where we achieve many great things I have to stop working with Coco due to my personal reasons. Thank you so much for this amazing year plenty of memories. It is really a pleasure to work with you @cocogauff a real champion on and off the court.”

Although the former tennis player’s absence may create a void in Gauff’s coaching staff, she will undoubtedly retain her desire to continue her promising start on the professional circuit.

Now, as the coach-player duo splits after collaborating for a year, let’s take a look back at some of the amazing achievements that the 19-year-old achieved under Moyano’s guidance.

Gauff’s achievements under Moyano’s tutelage 

At the beginning of the 2022 season, Moyano began working with the American teenage phenomenon. Together, they have since made significant strides on the tennis court. Under his mentorship, the 19-year-old enjoyed a tremendous season in which she earned her maiden appearance in the Grand Slam singles finalsand her second Grand Slam doubles final in the French Open the last year.

She also rose to the top 5 tennis players in the singles rankings, while also achieving the top spot in the doubles rankings. Gauff also had the opportunity to compete in the WTA finals for the first time, which was nothing short of a dream. Recently, she and her doubles partner Jessica Pegula took home the 2023 Miami Open title.
