Caroline Wozniacki‘s comments about Simona Halep‘s doping trial didn’t sit well with the former world’s number one tennis star. Wozniacki faced off against Halep at the Australian Open Tournament 2018. Despite praising the Romanian tennis star’s skills, Wozniacki presented an apprehensive comment where she wasn’t very supportive of people getting wildcards after doping cases. However, Halep seems to call a “translator” for her in her recent befitting reply to Wozniacki.
Now, Simona Halep was given a wildcard entry to the ongoing Miami Open tournament since she won the trial related to her doping case. Halep took a banned substance called Roxadustat and was suspended by the International Integrity Agency for four seasons. The WTA authority’s decision to help Simona Halep return to professional tennis wasn’t approved by Caroline Wozniacki. Let’s see what Halep has said in reply.

It can be seen in the clip that the reply brought a sense of confidence to Simona Halep’s face. This Romanian tennis star was waiting for the committee to lift the ban so that she could experience her old victories on the court again. After the verdict, Halep said- “I cannot wait to return to the tour,”
With the help of her lawyer Howard Jacobs, Halep established that she was exposed to that banned substance unintentionally. While the judge accepted her negligence, she should receive a chance since it wasn’t intentional. Following this ban lift, fans are expecting to see Halep soon.
While Halep’s recent response to Wozniacki showcased her confidence, it also brought curiosity about the things Woznaicki said triggering the Romanian WTA star.

Simona Halep’s doping trial didn’t receive Caroline Wozniacki’s support as the latter vows to “a clean sport”
Despite their professional bond, Wozniacki didn’t seem to support her colleague Simona Halep as the latter is returning to tennis with the ongoing Miami Open tournament. However, Wozniacki made a straight point, where it was clear that she is against any doping.
Wozniacki said– ” I’ve been very outspoken in the past about how I feel about doping and all of that. I think my view on doping is the same. I have always wanted a clean sport, fair for everybody. I think it’s still my opinion. Again, this is not directly at Simona, but if someone purposely cheats, if someone has tested positive for doping… I understand why a tournament wants a big star in the tournament, but it’s my personal belief, and it’s not a knock on anyone, but it’s my personal belief that I don’t think people should be awarded wild cards afterwards.”
