Former American tennis star Chris Evert was married to Alpine ski racer Andy Mill for a long time. The two have three sons from the marriage. Back in the days when they were together, the couple had some high-profile friendships as well. Both Mill and Evert were close to the Former President of the United States, George H. W. Bush. Mill recalled the time he spent with the former president in an interview a year ago. Here’s what he said.

While it was a dream of many to see Bush at least once, Mill was a good friend with the former president. The Alpine ski racing legend recalls going fishing with undoubtedly one of the most famous people in the world. Last year Andy Mill sat down for an exclusive interview with Suncoast Fly Fishers. Here’s what he said about his fishing experience with the former president.

“He was extremely cool. He had a great sense of humor! Every day with him was filled with activities. When we were at Kennebunkport, we’d fish for stripers early, golf in the afternoon, and return to barbecuing horseshoes, and a beer or two.”
Further praising the former president, Mill added, “He was a wonderful friend that cared deeply for not only me but my family. He and Chrissie were very close. He inducted her into the tennis hall of fame and wrote the foreword to my book.”
Andy Mill and Evert were together for twenty years. They finally split up after Evert decided to end things and marry Mill’s best friend Greg Norman.

Soon after her divorce from Mill, Evert married Greg Norman. The two seemed madly in love, but the marriage came to an early end. Within fifteen months of their marriage, the couple filed for divorce. After the failure of the marriage, Evert was heartbroken and needed counseling to come out of depression.
Later, the former world number one reconciled with Mill. Now the two share a good bond. Mill also accompanied Evert in all her chemotherapy sessions for cancer treatment.

Meanwhile, a fan suggested to Evert that she should never have left Mill. Replying to the comment, Evert wrote, “You’re right…”

Now that they have reconciled, hopefully, the bond gets stronger with time.
