Chris Evert retired in 1989 after winning 18 Grand Slam titles and becoming one of the most celebrated tennis players of all time. And then after that, she enjoyed her life to the fullest for ten years. She married Andy Mill in 1988 and had her first son in 1991. Though life was hectic with her three sons, she was content with her family. It took all the glamor of a world-renowned athlete out of her, as raising kids was not an easy task.
Nonetheless, the unwavering love of Chris Evert for her three sons is still visible. Despite having a glorious career, she once boldly accepted that her sons are her biggest achievements.

Chris Evert once detailed the good and bad parts of her retirement life
The good part started when she retired in 1989. This made the player realize how much she was suppressing her innate happiness. So, when she married her former husband Andy Mill in 1988 and retired in 1989, she gave a boost to a new life. And this had its ups and downs. Pointing out the happy parts, she said, in an interview in 2006, “For those first 10 years every morning felt like a vacation.” Furthermore, she said, “I hadn’t realized how much pressure had built up inside me. I got my life back.” However, there were new challenges coming her way. Evert talked about meeting her former husband Andy Mill and having three sons during those ten years.
She said, “And then you’re totally knocked off your pedestal.” She gave an example and said, “One day I was traveling on private jets. Suddenly you’re traveling with a baby and your hair’s a mess and there’s throw-up on your shoulder. It’s not just about you.”

With three sons under her wing, Evert her hands full. She was very focused on raising them right and did it earnestly. Even now, when she meets them, she can not help but boast about her love for all of them.
Evert’s marriage with Mill came to an ugly end
Just when things were settling down for good, Evert met Mill’s best friend, Greg Norman, a legendary golf player. And eventually, when Mill and Evert divorced in 2006, Norman played a major role in it. As the former golfer and tennis player fell for each other, they divorced their respective long-term spouses to marry each other. Unfortunately, things did not work out between the two. Within 15 months of their marriage in 2008, Norman and Evert parted ways. After divorcing Norman, Evert has led a single life all these years.

Despite going through a tough separation, both Evert and Mill remain close friends. The former Alpine ski racer even accompanied Evert during her chemotherapy sessions to treat her breast cancer. Do you see Evert marrying again in the future?
