Is Miss Sunshine making a comeback at the Australian Open? After a long probable list of superstars making a comeback at the first Grand Slam of the season, there is new confirmation news coming out from the ‘Land Down Under’. The 33-year-old Danish tennis player, Caroline Wozniacki was awarded a wildcard on Wednesday which would ensure her participation at the first tournament of the year after a 4 year-long gap.

Australian Open is set to commence from January 14 – January 28 next year. The former number one would now love to repeat the heroics of 2018 AO in 2024. In 2018, Caroline Wozniacki became the first Dane to win a Grand Slam title. 5 years have passed, and she’s now a mother of two. AO is quite special to her as much as Wozniacki to the prestigious tournament.

Caroline Wozniacki had announced her retirement from tennis just after the Australian Open in 2020. She was then focusing on starting a family and enjoying her off-court life to the fullest. But this year she made a comeback after a gap of more than 3 years. She featured in the Canadian Open and the Cincinnati Masters just before making her run to the Round of 16 in the US Open. Her astonishing run at the US Open after taking such a long break has now earned her a place at the AO.

Recently, the official page of the Australian Open on Instagram announced the return of the Dane with a beautiful post. They posted a picture of Wozniacki with a smile on her face with a message that said, So good! Hey Siri, play ‘Sweet Caroline’ in 2024.” Wozniacki along with 6 other Australian players received the first batch of wild cards on Wednesday. 

The AO has grown to be one of the biggest sporting events in the Southern Hemisphere. ‘The Happy Slam’ marked a record attendance in 2023. Now, with these superstars making a comeback to the biggest event, it will be interesting to see how far it reaches this time.

From Miami to Melbourne, Caroline Wozniacki has already set her plans

Wozniacki won her first Grand Slam here and now she wants to capture yet another historic moment of her life in front of her cute little family. Wozniacki has planned to bring her 2-year-old daughter Olivia and 1-year-old James to Melbourne Park. Can they witness their supermom clinch her second Grand Slam title at the AO?

Well, the 33YO mom of two has been out of action for a while. She had worked as a TV analyst for a while in between. Though her 18-year-old experience at the highest level of the game would help her analyze her opponents. But needless to mention, it will get tougher as she steps into the blue hard court.
